(Long Live Tupac!!!!)

California... Knows how to party
California... Knows how to party
In the citaaay of L.A.
In the citaay of good ol' Watts
In the citaaay, the city of Compton
We keep it rockin, We keep it rockin!

Now let me welcome everybody
to the wild, wild west
A state that;s untouchable like Elliot Ness
Track hits ya eardrum like a slug to ya chest
Pack a vest for your Jimmy in the city of sex
We in that sunshine state where that bomb ass hemp be

The state where ya never find a dance floor empty

And pimps be on a mission for them greens

Lean mean money-makin-machines servin fiends

I been in the game for ten years makin rap tunes
Ever since honeys was wearin sassoon
Now it's '95 and they clock me and watch me
Diamonds shinin lookin like I robbed Liberace
It's all good, from Diego to tha Bay
Your city is tha bomb if your city makin pay
Throw up a finger if ya feel the same way
Dre puttin it down for

Shake it shake it baby

Shake it shake it baby

Shake it shake it mama

Shake it Cali

Shake it shake it baby

Shake it shake it shake it shake it...

"Out on bail fresh outta jail, California dreamin" - California Love

Out on bail fresh outta jail, California dreamin

Soon as I stepped on the scene, I'm hearin hoochies screamin

Fiendin for money and alcohol

The life of a west side playa where cowards die and it's all ball

Only in Cali where we riot not rally to live and die

In L.A. we wearin Chucks not Ballies (that's right)

Dressed in Locs and khaki suits and ride is what we do

Flossin but have caution we collide with other crews
Famous cause we program worldwide
Let'em recognize from Long Beach to Rosecrans
Bumpin and grindin like a slow jam, it's west side
So you know the row won't bow down to no man
Say what you say
But give me that bomb beat from Dre
Let me serenade the streets of L.A.
From Oakland to Sacktown
The Bay Area and back down
Cali is where they put they mack down
Give me love!

[Dre:] Now make it shake...

Uh, yeah, uh, longbeach in tha house, uh yeah

Oaktown, Oakland definately in tha house hahaha

Frisko, Frisko

[Tupac:] Hey, you know LA is up in this

Pasadena, where you at

Yeah, Inglewood, Inglewood always up to no good

[Tupac:] Even Hollywood tryin to get a piece baby

Sacramento, sacramento where ya at? yeah

Throw it up y'all, throw it up, Throw it up

Let's show these fools how we do this on that west side

Cause you and I know it's tha best side

Woman In The Mirror

Michael Jackson’s iconic song, “Man in the Mirror” has these powerful lyrics:

“I’m starting with the man in the mirror.
I’m asking him to change his ways.
And no message could have been any clearer.
If you wanna make the world a better place.
Take a look at yourself and then make a CHANGE”.

WOW!!! Very simple, isn’t it? If you want to change the world; you have to start with “you”. And if you’re like me, you probably have pondered, “What’s my purpose in life? What’s my calling?”  I believe that each and one of us are capable of doing extraordinary things; the question is “what”, right?

When I was married I always felt trapped. I knew that I was missing “something”; but, I wasn’t sure what it was. At that time, I thought I had everything: a husband, three kids, a house, cars, a boat, dirt bikes, etc. But, I was missing “ME”. Sure, I was somebody’s wife, somebody’s mother, I was in charge of the household, I was an active PTA member, baseball mom, soccer mom, and I coordinated the yearly talent shows at my kids’ school; yet, I always told myself, “My purpose in life has to be greater than this!”

I didn’t begin to discover exactly who I am, until I was stripped down to NOTHING during my divorce at age 34. Javier (my ex-husband) left me in the street! Literally! I’m not exaggerating! Since Javier managed to file a restraining order against me, I was not able to go back to our family home ever again! He took me out of our bank accounts; so I had no money and I didn’t have a job. I wasn’t able to contact, call, or see my kids. Javier even went to my kids school (somewhere he’d never been) to turn in a copy of the restraining order just to embarrass me! I used to be at that school almost every day taking pictures of the kids for their yearbook. And since Javier gave the school a copy of the restraining order, I couldn’t visit my kids’ school anymore.  On top of that, I was facing “possible” criminal charges due to Javier’s lies! What an asshole, huh?

But in the midst of all that turmoil, there were people in my neighborhood who took it upon themselves to make a “CHANGE”.  At the time I lived in a small town; so, the news that the “talent show coordinator” at Harada Elementary had been detained and taken into custody for “beating the shit out of her husband (a cop) with ‘one’ punch” (ßHow stupid my ex-husband is) spread like wild fire!

My friend Wendy and her husband were the first ones to step in by bailing me out of jail; and then by opening their home to my kids and me until my divorce was final. My friend Kelli sent her husband Chris (someone who I’ve never meet before) to help my uncle and I move me out of the family residence. Every single time I saw Chris taking a break, I thought, “Wow! This dude is working so hard moving my furniture and boxes, and he doesn’t even know me!” I had many of the ladies from my neighborhood; that stopped by to drop off “money”. Some of them did that, out of their “own” pocket without telling their husbands! I just couldn’t believe how a “community” came together to make a “CHANGE”.  I think that what Javier did to our family was very evil; but, the situation that he created brought so many good people together!

Since I didn’t have kids for a few months due to the court orders, I had no other choice than to “focus” on myself, something I’ve never done before, until that time. From 2008 to 2009, I asked myself almost every single day the same questions, “Who am I?” and “What makes me happy?” At first, I didn’t have answers for either question! How sad is that?

It wasn’t until the end of 2011, when I met a cute guy and on our first and “only” date, he told me that I should read, “The Mastery of Love” by Don Miguel Ruiz. On a side note: when someone tells you that you should read a specific book, please take it as a sign that God or the Universe or any higher power you believe in; is actually talking directly to you! Most likely you’re ready to receive a blessing from the material you’re about to discover. I know this because that’s exactly what happened to me when I read “The Mastery of Love” and other books since. And just in case you were wondering, I never heard from the cute guy who told me to read this book. He was just the “divine” messenger ;-)

A quote from the book reads, “You are what you are; you don’t need to pretend to be something else.” and “When you pretend to be what you are not; you are always going to fail.” Wow! Tears were rolling down my cheeks when I read this! Because for thirty something years of my life, I “pretended” to be someone who was not me! Ugh! What a waste of my life! (I was so pissed off!) LOL!

From that moment on, the constant search to find an answer to the question “Who am I?” was over!  I am: a fighter, a reformer, an optimist, a visionary, a dreamer, an innovator, an artist, a very outspoken woman, who stands for Freedom, Truth, and Justice! Plus I’m very “entertaining” too! Hahahaha! ;-) “What makes me happy?” ME!!! I’m happy being me! I don’t place my happiness in someone else’s hands. My happiness is mine to own! And I create my own happiness! ;-)

Just as “The Man in the Mirror” lyrics, I took a look at myself and then I made a CHANGE!     (A huge change if you asked me!) Little by little, I began discovering things about myself that I didn't know! It’s clear to me now, that my purpose in life is to serve others; and, to share my knowledge and the things I've gone through. Steve Jobs said, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.” Am I crazy enough? I think so! ;-) That's why I’m starting with me, the Woman in the Mirror!

"If you wanna make the world a better place.
Take a look at yourself and then make a CHANGE"

Supermom first, Super Bond Girl second, SuperMILF always!

Last week, I was chatting with a good friend of mine from Scotland via Facebook when he messaged me this, “Nancy you’re Supermom first, Super Bond Girl second, SuperMILF always!” Oh dear! LOL! I laughed so hard!

I think every Mom is a Supermom! Moms make the world go round, plain and simple! Do I consider myself a “Supermom”? Of course I do! ;-) And I’m very grateful to see that people can recognize how much I adore my kids! Don’t get me wrong, we have our disagreements and together my kids and I have gone through a lot of bullshit! I’m not going to lie! It’s been hard and very painful, sometimes! I've seen my kids suffer over circumstances beyond my control and that breaks my heart! Six years ago I became a “divorced Mom” and even though the conditions of how it all happened were not ideal (I landed in jail, falsely accused of a crime I didn't commit by my ex-husband, I had to fight possible criminal charges, restraining orders, fought to regain custody of my kids, etc.,) it made us stronger and closer! I try not to look back at those very dark days; but, I am who I am today due to that “darkness”.

When I became a Mom for the very first time almost 19 years ago (yep! my son will be 19 years old next month… daaannnggggg! LOL). I was “instantly in love” with him, and consequently thereafter with my two daughters. I always wanted to have children in my early 20’s because I figured by the time I turned 40; I would still have enough energy to hang-out with my twenty something year old kids, and that’s exactly what’s happening now! I’m still my kids's Mom; but, my job now is more of a “life coach” and a “cheerleader” than anything else.

My divorce was horrible; but, it gave me the opportunity to raise “my” kids the way “I” wanted! And I've raised them with the “truth” and the reality that life is hard! I have never lied to them! My goal wasn't to raise “good kids”; my goal has always been to raised: “warriors”.

I've been told in many occasions by different people, “But, Nancy you’re so crazy! You should tone it down! Think about your kids!” hahahahahaha!!!! I always laugh at these people! They’re a classic example of “conformity” and I despise that word! Every single time someone has made a comment about the things I do and then mentions my kids, is a clear sign to me that, that person is “weak” and “toxic”. I want nothing to do with those people! What most people consider “crazy” about me is “normal” to my kids! Hahahaha!!! I’ve been their “mother” for 19 years thus far and nothing is going to change! What you see, is what you get! I don’t pretend to be someone else; I don’t hide who I really am due to religion or government or what other people think! It’s so awesome not to conform; you should try it sometime… ;-)

Super Bond Girl: It’s funny because I was actually thinking about “Super Bond Girl” a few weeks ago; and, the fact that Super Bond Girl was created out of nothing! Well, Super Bond Girl was also created out of anger too; I’m not going to deny that! I think “anger” is a force we (humans) are able to control. We decide to use “anger” for good or for bad. When I first began blogging in 2011, I was very angry at my ex-husband for accusing me of domestic violence and sending me to jail. I simply wanted to tell my story to people locally in my town. I never even imagined that I was going to be able to touch people’s lives around world! I’m still in awe! And quite honestly, I haven’t even blogged about half of the stuff I want to talk about!

Some of my blogs take days even weeks to put together, while other blog posts are simple and I can post them in a few hours. My blogs are “entertaining” and “informative”; but, I think most of my readers come back due to the entertainment factor. “Super Bond Girl” has become my stage name on this platform and it’s actually pretty cool! I’m happy! ;-)

“SuperMILF” In 2011, I was working for Rochelle Bell (R.I.P.) at Bell Bail Bonds in Van Nuys, CA. One day, Rochelle and I walked together from the court building to our office; when a group of young men sitting outside the court said Hello to me. I said “Hi” back to them. As we passed by them, I heard one of the guys say, “Nancy you’re a MILF!” I responded, “Thanks dude!” and everybody laughed except my boss! Rochelle then asked me, “What did he call you?” I was like, “Oh no! I’m going to have to explain what ‘MILF’ stands for to my 72 year old boss!” Oh dear! Lol! So, I told Rochelle, “He called me ‘MILF’ which means ‘Mother I Like to Fuck’” Rochelle couldn't stop laughing!!! I would never forget it! It was priceless! ;-)

Monarch of the Seas, 2008
I've been hearing the term: MILF since 2008. Let me just say this, “Men can’t control themselves!” hahahaha!!! At first, it was embarrassing for me, when men started saying stupid shit right in front of my kids! Especially when my kids were little! Uugghh! I remember I took my kids on a cruise in 2008, at the time they were 8, 10 and 12 years old and men couldn't shut up! Even the married ones! I was like, “What the hell is your problem? Your wife is on this boat too!” Gross!!!

I've tried different tactics! Being “nice” and telling men to stop! Doesn't work! “Confronting” men and telling them to stop? Doesn't work! As my kids got older, they started confronting men; especially my daughter Rio, “Leave my Mom alone, asshole!” OMG! She was 14 when she did that! It was hilarious! LMAO!!! … My kids are teenagers now and even their friends in High School are getting in the mix. Rio tweeted recently, “You know the song, ‘Stacy’s Mom’? Yeah, story of my life right there!” LMAO!

So, we finally gave up! It’s cool, I've never been offended by the term “MILF” anyway. I just didn't want men saying it in front of my kids.  But, I don’t think my kids care anymore! We just roll with it and laugh at all the stupid stuff men come up with! What else can we do? LOL!

Get Your "Countries" Straight!

I've said it a few times in a couple of my previous blogs: "Haters Make People Famous". The good thing is that I have a really great sense of humor towards my haters! - I was born in Guatemala; therefore, I'm NOT Mexican! Get your "countries" straight! LOL! ;-)
